Setting Concepts:
Jerusalem's Lot. A metropolis where lovecraftian creatures and humans can and do coexist in day to day basis. A place so chaotic that it has become the norm to know that your neighbors may be (and probably are) some of creature you can only imagine in the darkest corners of your mind. Creepy, right? Now imagine that in the very heart of New York City- not really that surprising now, huh?

Well, it wasn't always as such. In fact- it's only been three years since the portal to the Beyond opened, connecting the citizens of New York City to creatures unknown, nicknamed Beyondians. After countless failed attempts at destroying the forcefield that surrounds the city (and the Eldricht-like sea monster that protects it) the city has, in a way, begun to grow used to the common unusualness...somewhat. Certainly, many humans do not accept their new neighbors, but at least they're not shooting missiles at them anymore!

Unless they're bad. Then that's another story.

Actually, that's where Libra comes in. Those evil supernatural beings...they're usually above what the police is able to handle, even with their huge, armored suits. And while Libra isn't exactly legal, they're the best bet the city has to keep those bad guys from destroying what is left of the city. But, what is Libra? A (not very) underground society built of people who are special, whether it's by use of the Blood Arts (the use of one's own blood as a weapon) or through other...strange circumstances, that deal with the more dangerous parts of Jerusalem's Lot. Monsters, aliens, crime organizations- you name it, they've probably dealt with it at least once.

So where does Leo come in all of this? What does a common, run of the mill person like him have to do with something as big as Libra? A lot, thanks to the All-Seeing Eyes of the Gods. A pair of mechanical eyeballs that were forcefully implanted into him by a strange (and terrifyingly looking) celestial being named Riga El Menuhyut...at the cost of his sister's sight. Considering that this event only occurs during times of great calamities or changes, it's implied that Leo has been chosen by this being to record the events he has and will continue to witness.

Personality:
Leo, in comparison to the rest of the Libra members, is a bit of a strange person. In fact, he's the last person that you would suspect to be a member of the city's most known underground organization.

In the strangeness of what is Jerusalem's Lot, amidst the monsters with multiple eyes and dozens of arms, Leonardo Watch is...a very normal person. A very normal person stuck in the strangest place in the entire world- and yet he fits right in. Leo is the type to accept things at face value, very few questions asked. Befriending a small mushroom-guy and eating burgers with him? No problem. Suddenly joining a team of people who fight crime by using their blood or creating ice as weapons? Finding out that your newest friend is actually a barrier that keeps the place from collapsing and that their sibling has an age old demon inside? He'll understand- and believe it. Not because he's a gullible idiot, but because he's very quick to adapt to new situations even if they're not enjoyable. Especially if they're not enjoyable. There's no use in denying what is right in front of you- that is how he thinks. It's better to make do with what's given, than to whine and moan about how things could have been. In that aspect, Leo tries to be a realist...

...that borders on pessimism. Mostly directed at himself, but it's still something that is heavily present throughout the series. Throughout the series, it's made obvious that Leo has quite a low opinion of himself, usually expressed through self-depreciative jokes or comments. He sees himself as a burden, a weight that Libra has to carry around, too stubborn to truly accept the compliments that his boss (and sometimes even his teammates!) gives him at times. Because he sees himself as a little more than baggage, he prefers to take the entire weight of the world on his shoulders instead of accepting others' help. He reminds himself to not depend on others in various episodes, almost as if Leo is afraid that he will become an annoyance to the team.

And Leo is afraid. He’s afraid that he won’t be good enough for his team or for his sister. That, when they need him the most, he will end up failing them one way or another. This fear of failure stems from the event that changed his and his sister’s lives—the moment that he obtained the All-Seeing Eyes of the Gods. Paralyzed in fear of the terrifying creature that stood before them, Leo couldn’t bring himself to stop his sister from sacrificing her sight for him. Due to this he sees himself as weak and cowardly, and he is afraid that those around him will come to similar conclusions over the smallest slip-ups.

Despite these fallbacks or, actually, due to them, Leo is quite a sensitive person. Wearing his heart on his sleeve at all times, it’s easy to tell what he is feeling at the moment—hiding emotions isn’t something he’s good at. And though it does make him an easy target for those who want to mess with him (Zapp), it makes him a good friend and companion to those around. And to those who are his friends, Leo will be as loyal as a dog no matter what the situation calls for. When his friends are in danger, he’s ready to give it his all for them, and maybe just a little more. When a friend needs a pick-me-up, he will most likely be there, supporting them and giving encouraging words, right beside them. To his friends he gives them one hundred percent trust, something that refuses to waver, even during the most trying times. After being betrayed by two newest friends, Leo doesn’t show any sort of anger or resentment towards them—he shows concern. Leo will believe in his friends to the end, or until proven otherwise…and that’s tough to do.

That’s another thing about Leo: his well-defined morals. Even in the ever crazy Jerusalem’s Lot, where violence and injustice is as common as anything, his morals remain firm; he’s not afraid to stand up for others when it’s necessary. When a Beyondian is being sold a hamburger six times the actual price, Leo stands up for him and decides to buy those burgers himself, despite not even knowing the creature’s name. Even when he’s told by almost everyone in the team to kill the sonic speed monkey in the first episode, Leo decides against it, using his abilities for a chance to find a way for the monkey to live while still saving the day, because he didn’t (and doesn’t) want to cause anyone—or anything harm, if he can help it. Hell, even when he’s mugged, he prefers to let the muggers get away than using his ability, because he doesn’t believe in using his powers for his own selfish gains.

And while such an ideals may fall close to altruism, it doesn’t mean that he’s some doormat to step on. Like anyone, Leo does have a limit to how much he can be pushed around before he fights back. But this limit is so high, that it earned him the nickname “Tortoise Knight” from his little sister. He can, and will, take hit after hit (whether psychological or physical) without fighting back, like a turtle in its shell, until he has a chance to strike back at them. He’s stubborn enough to take a hundred hits and still keep standing, if it means protecting those that he cares about from any sort of harm.

All in all, Leo is just…a normal person. It’s strange enough on its own, but his normalcy is like a breath of fresh air in the panicked life of Jerusalem’s Lot. While he is more cowardly in comparison to his teammates, he makes up for that in loyalty and compassion. His loved ones are the most important people in his life and he is willing to lay his life down for them. And even when things seem too tough for Leo to handle, he will find a way to make it through—he always does.

Appearance:
    Here
He usually keeps his eyes closed or squinted in order to hide his eyes. When they are open though, they are neon blue in color and have a strange, mechanical appearance. They bring a lot of unwanted attention. He's also the shortest one in the cast...very smol...

Abilities:
While Leo himself does not have any abilities, the All-Seeing Eyes do have many uses and abilities that he has been able to control and use throughout the series.

First and foremost, is his ability to see the truth of the world. World-altering illusions are basically useless against him for Leo can see right through them like rice paper. The reality of the world, even that which cannot be perceived by the naked eye can, and is, perceived by Leonardo. Rapid movements unseeable by the naked eye, minute details, hell, even people's auras are easily visible to him. It takes the term "enhanced visibility" to a whole new level.

But it doesn't stop there. Leo is capable of not only seeing from his perspective, but he is also able to see through someone else's eyes as well- whether it's a current or past situation. He is also able to transmit his own point of view onto others if necessary; like bluetooth for sight. He does this by projecting his own sight into the other's mind, creating a visual connection with them.

This also means that, if he needs to, Leo can forcefully take control of a person's eyes, forcing them to move to his will. This induces sickness on the victim, such as nausea, hallucinations, etc, which is very useful when he needs to defend himself.

Nevertheless, such powers do not come without their price. If the eyes are overused, they will overheat, and maybe even break. This causes pain and discomfort to the user of the eyes along with impaired sight, though they are capable of repairing themselves over time.

Okay, uh, testing- is this working correctly? Jeez, why couldn't they just choose to use cellphones...

[ His hands fidget, unseen by the everyone but himself. Leo is definitely not a fan of these public communication services, where everyone could listen to what he was saying- what if he messed up?! ]

Anyways-! Uh, hello I'm Leonardo. Y'know, I really don't have much to say or to offer for those who are looking for a way back home, but I want to help if it's possible. Not that life here is bad here but...[ a small gulp can be heard on the audio, followed by a nervous chuckle ] I guess I really would like to wake up and go home, too. Living on top of a giant turtle is only good for so long, right?

[ Leo gives a sigh, almost as if a big pressure has been lifted from his chest, and he's just about to close the feed when he adds: ]

I'm gonna apply to some of the jobs that are on the Welcome Center- anyone have any experience with them?
